Personally, I would take the refund, as it allows you to repurchase a new Kindle Paperwhite with a further 12 months warranty. If your device is within its 12-month warranty, Amazon will give you the option of a refund or replacement. In cases like this you are best speaking to Amazon with regards to either a replacement or repair. It could be that there is a hardware issue with your device such as a failed power supply or CPU.
